Lupin III is getting the Live Action Film treatment in 2014

Those who grew up with the exploits of a certain ARSENE LUPIN III, best be excited, for Japan is going to give this iconic Manga/ Anime series the live action film treatment come 2014!

Much like recent hits Rurouni Kenshin and Gatchaman, the LUPIN III/ RUPAN SANSEI franchise has been officially tapped and announced for the big screen, coming sometime in Summer 2014. Created by MONKEY PUNCH in August 1967, the character is the grandson of Arsene Lupin, the gentleman master thief and main character of MAURICE LEBLANC'S novels, who steals valuable items and travels around the world with his trusted allies, Marksman Daisuke Jigen and Samurai Goemon Ishikawa XIII. Also working together with the gang is Lupin's love interest Fujiko Mine, who the thief lusts after, but is usually manipulated by the female fetale for her own gains. Inspector Koichi Zenigata of the ICPO has made it his personal mission to apprehend Lupin and his crew, going through thick and thin to chase the thief wherever he goes around the globe.

15 Anime series that have touched my heart

I was tagged by a good friend mine in Facebook about 15 anime titles that have touched my heart.Well, I can't say that some of them did touch my heart in ways that could move mountains and split the deepest seas, but, they are there for the sheer fact of nostalgia and fond memories I had while watching them. And like the rest of my otaku friends, it's just literally hard to put just 15 when there are a lot to include in this list.

So without further ado, here are my top 15 in no particular order. (on top of my head...after the rules of course...)

THE RULES: DON'T TAKE TOO LONG TO THINK ABOUT IT. FIFTEEN ANIME YOU'VE SEEN THAT WILL ALWAYS STICK WITH YOU. LIST THE FIRST FIFTEEN YOU CAN RECALL IN NO MORE THAN FIFTEEN MINUTES.

Rurouni Kenshin: New Kyoto Arc [Anime Review]

I've been watching a backlog of Bleach & Naruto on DVD, so its been a while since I've written a review. I've also failed to make it to the theater, so no reviews from that front either.

But tonight that changes, I'm finally reviewing a relatively new anime blu-ray: Rurouni Kenshin New Kyoto Arc. More after the fold.

The Beginning (and End) of A Legend; Tsuiokuhen.

I took the liberty of watching Kenshin: Tsuiokuhen, or more commonly known as Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal, the other day. I was expecting a good hour and a half of backstory to a series that has shaped my perception of shonen themes, a couple of battle scenes, good ol' pumped up action, and awful 90 s dubbing.

I did not get what I expected.

Day 12: Fanfic Quote Day

I wasn't planning to out-and-out "rebel" and change a Day's topic until later in the month, but try as I might, I couldn't think of anything good to do for Day 12's original topic (Comic Quote Day). I just don't read enough comics to make it interesting, and I already used up my favourite comic quotes for Day 1, so there'd be no point recycling them. I can't call upon Quest to help me out with a vlog, either, since she reads even fewer comics than I do.

Instead, I've decided to devote this Day to a literary form which I don't think gets enough press. Yup, I said "literary form". Although most would probably find it laughable, I'm very passionate about the idea of fanfic being seen as a literary form with equal value to original prose. When most people think of fanfiction, they think of ungrammatical prose written by angst-ridden teenagers, plot holes and Mary-Sues, unnatural pairings and awful porn. I'm not denying that there is an abundance of all of the above out there, but there is also an abundance of beautifully written, thoughtful, profound, funny and insightful fanfiction that tends to get forgotten about. So for Day 12, I'm going to spotlight the very best quotes from some of my favourite fics, and show off what fanfiction can do when given the chance.
